The Associate, Real Estate Specialist will support in the preparation and administration of documentation related to the lease or purchase of property for renewable energy facilities.
This person will support the RWE Clean Energy's wind, solar and battery storage businesses.
Responsibilities:
Assisting paralegal with drafting and processing of landowner correspondence, leases, memorandums of lease, amendments, tax equity agreements, estoppels, consents, assignments, subordinations and other transactional documents related to the lease or purchase of property entering and validating data in land management software
Reviewing vesting documents to determine ownership and verifying legal descriptions
Performing records searches in various jurisdictions
Preparing trackers, checklists and/or timelines to maintain real estate due diligence of property acquisition and project deliverables
Collaborating with title companies to order title and track title orders
Tracking expiring leases
Maintaining project folders in AltAmps (internal management system, can be trained on specifics) and confirm all fully executed leases and memorandums have been uploaded and originals filed in file room
Coordinating the recordation of real estate documentation;
Collaborating with teams of other paralegals, attorneys, real estate specialists, and members of commercial teams.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; degree-educated preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the real estate or renewables industry required
Ability to work within tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to navigate office technology
High degree of integrity and confidentiality
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
Detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
