Piper was stolen from my yard in Onion Creek in South Austin on the morning of Valentine's Day 2022, just after 3am.

I was outside with her while she had a potty break, it was very early in the morning so it was very dark.
There was a commotion on the back part of my yard, a particularly dark area of the property, my dogs and the neighbors dogs were barking like crazy so I called for my dogs and only one came.
I immediately took off to find out what had happened, still assuming she was in the yard just that maybe she was trapped under something or whatever.
She was not in the yard.
So I walked down towards the golf course clubhouse since that's where she normally goes when she escapes the yard.
On my way there, there was a suspicious vehicle that was parked in an odd place in front of the clubhouse on the road with hazards on.
They started moving toward me, VERY QUICKLY, once I was in sight but suddenly stopped, backed up about 5ft, then FLOORED it left down the street that loops around the backside of my house.
They briefly parked once they thought that they were out of sight.
However, with it being dark, when I walked past, I could tell that they were, again, stopped due to the tail lights reflecting off of the houses that line that road.
I continued down to the clubhouse to call for her and found nothing so I started back home.
The same vehicle was then coming off of my street and quickly turned up the next one closer to me (both are cul-de-sacs).
They obviously hadn't seen me due to the shadows of the trees that hang over the sidewalk, until they got back down to Pebble Beach, and I was within ~7 yards of their car.
At which point, they changed the position of the vehicle from what was obviously going to be a right hand turn, to a sharp left and SPED off.
At this point I hadn't really thought much of any of it.
While odd, it certainly wasn't raising any alarms in my head.
I just assumed that it was the neighborhood patrol or the paper carrier and returned home.
My roommate was checking the perimeter of the property while I was out walking and found that no part of the fence was out of place and the gate was still fastened shut.
*It is important to note, Piper had JUST been returned to me with a shattered pelvis and substantial trauma to both knees.
I assume that she was hit by a car or that the woman that had held her for 2 MONTHS (even though she knew where Piper lived she deliberately withheld her and many other parts of her story just doesn't line up) isn't telling the full story about her injuries.
Either way, Piper is completely debilitated, making going over or under the fence highly unlikely routes of escape.

Once there was a little bit of sunlight, I, too, walked the perimeter and confirmed that everything was secure.
During my inspection though, I noticed fresh shoe prints in the mud that do not match my boots nor the shoes my roommate was wearing.
They appear to be Vans sneakers of some kind based on images I searched online.
Further, I also found that my hog wire (that I have lining the privacy fence to prevent the dogs from going through the fence), is crushed down as though it has been stepped on.
This is in the same area of the yard where the dogs were barking.
Basically, it seems, that someone came into my yard and stole my dog and the vehicle was there to pick them up but had gotten confused seeing me, thinking I was the POS they were intending to pick up.
There was no possible way that she could've left the yard, by herself, and on the off chance that she had, I was already outside so I was calling for her immediately.
She always comes when called, or calls (barks) back, unless she was being restrained in some way.
If you stole my dog or know who did, give her back or at least let me know where she is so that I can go get her.
I have already filed a police report, unfortunately we all know they have more important things to do.
★Suspicious Vehicle: Dark colored (navy blue, dark grey etc), newer model (2010+) compact-mid sized crossover.
Really hard to explain, so I will add a picture to the post, but it has horizontally positioned tail lights, and very low set LED headlights.
Looks a lot like an '09-'15 Mazda CX-3, 5 or 9 or possibly a Chevy Equinox.
While my description kind of sucks, I could easily identify it if I saw it again.
Please text me with any information you may have relating to the disappearance of my dog.
