Responsibilities of a Resource Teacher/ Food Handler include the following:
Give lunch breaks or restroom breaks to teachers
Distribute breakfast, lunch, and snacks to all children
Keep kitchen clean
Follow kitchen cleaning policies
Maintain necessary paperwork for health and sanitation inspections
Help teachers with maintaining the school and classroom cleaning policies
Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
Supporting each child’s social and emotional development
Establishing positive and effective family relations
Working with the classroom teachers and in conjunction with the entire faculty
Qualifications
Minimum High School
We will give you Food Handler Training
Follow the Allergy list and keep close attention to what is being served to each child
Knowledgeable about portion sizes and healthy eating habits
Shows empathy and compassion for young children
Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
in connection with handling children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to lift infants into and out of a crib properly
