Job Overview
Reporting to the Stewarding Supervisor, as a Kitchen Steward you play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization within the Food and Beverage department.
Your responsibilities encompass maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and ensuring a continuously quality flow of dishwashing and kitchen operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operate and maintain dishwashing machines to ensure efficient and sanitary cleaning of all kitchen and tableware items.
Hand wash delicate items and pots and pans when necessary.
Ensure that all dishes, glassware, and silverware are spotlessly clean and polished.
Clean kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen tools to maintain high standards of hygiene.
Regularly sanitize and disinfect kitchen and dining areas, including floors, countertops, and service stations.
Empty trash bins and maintain a neat and clean appearance throughout the hotel's food service areas.
Assist in the transportation of food items to and from the kitchen to ensure timely service.
Stock and restock kitchen supplies as needed.
Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food prep and plating as required.
Collaborate closely with the kitchen and serving staff to maintain a seamless and efficient operation.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a coordinated approach to service.
Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines, including those outlined by the health department.
Follow policies and procedures to ensure the safety of guests, staff, and property.
Required Skill & Abilities
Ability to use kitchen tools safely and appropriately, keeping knives sharpened; using proper knife handling procedures, and engaging all appropriate safety devices prior to operating equipment.
Report maintenance issues immediately to appropriate personnel.
Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum service to guests.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company Food Safety Programs within assigned area of responsibility, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.

Education & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency
Minimum one (1) year of related work experience
Active Food Handler's certificate
Must be at least 18 years’ old
Must be authorized to work in the United States
