We are looking for reliable daytime availability with Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays off, and an hour break for lunch daily (half of it paid!).

*Position Summary*
The Prep Associate is responsible mixing and baking cakes, cookies, and pastries in addition to preparing sauces, swirls and curds to prep the ice cream for churning.

Duties & Expectations*
* Complete opening, closing, and all other cleaning checklists as required
* Prepare ice cream bases & components by strictly following recipes
* Ensure prepared bases & components are properly stored and tracked
* Complete all ice cream preparation within allotted scheduled time, sooner if possible
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of any item and equipment related to prep (tables, ovens, utensil crocks, ingredient bins, mix fridges, tubs, lids, mixers, blenders, bowls, etc.
) and discarding old/unusable products and equipment (with permission from kitchen manager).
* Communicate freezer temperatures, pints & tubs churned, low ingredients, and any other notes or requests to churning supervisor
* Be critical and taste everything!
* Communicate well in advance with churning supervisor when problems arise
*Qualifications*
* 1-2+ years kitchen experience preferred
* 1-2+ years pastry experience is a plus
* Preference given to those open to working afternoons/evenings after training
* Great, legitimate professional references
* Reliable transportation
* Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand 8+ hours a day
* Patience with repetitive tasks
* A Food Handler certificate or one obtained within 30 days of hire
* Non-slip shoes required

* Maintain a flexible schedule based on shop needs
* Able to communicate clearly and professionally with team members (face-to face or by telephone)
* Able to read and comprehend written material
* Able to stand for shifts lasting up to, but not limited to, 8 hours of time on tile flooring
* Perform tasks which involve repetitive motion including, but not limited to the use of arms, hands, wrists, back
* Follows standard procedures in the use of all kitchen appliances, equipment, utensils, etc.
* Able to adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations
* Able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
* Able to work in variable temperature conditions, such as below freezing temperatures
