As part of the Commissioners’ Office, you would support the commissioners as they establish overall agency direction and policy and make their final determinations on contested permitting and enforcement matters.
This position works directly in the Chief Auditor’s Office.

Qualifications
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must reside within 75 miles or within a two (2) hour commute to the TCEQ campus located at 12100 Park 35 Circle, Austin, TX
Experience in leading audit projects and teams
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and/or Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP)
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING.

Oversee and/or participate in the planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases of attestation and advisory service engagements conducted by the Chief Auditor’s Office.
Analyze management operations, internal control structures and systems, information technology databases and systems, and accounting records for reliability, adequacy, accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with legal regulations.
Develop audit scopes, programs, objectives, procedures, and deliverables that test controls and provide a conclusion on the audit objectives.
Prepare, and may review working papers to document the results of work performed, including data analysis, interviews, and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable government standards and audit standards established by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Communicate engagement results through oral presentations with client representatives and through the preparation of written reports meeting applicable governmental, IIA, and Agency accessibility standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus five years of full-time experience in accounting, auditing, or an analytical field that includes at least three years in public or internal auditing.

One year of full-time experience in auditing, accounting, or an analytical field may substitute for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.
OR…
Certification as a public accountant (CPA), internal auditor (CIA), or information systems auditor (CISA), plus two years of full-time experience in accounting, auditing, or an analytical field.
