Our accounting team at our corporate office in Austin, TX, seeks an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead our firmwide team.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, extremely organized, and possesses the ability to multitask under pressure.
The Accounting Supervisor is a highly effective communicator who understands accounting bigger picture goals while also being able to ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
This will be a key role in closing books, tax filings, budgets, and forecasting.
We want someone who can attack each new accounting challenge with the knowledge that last week’s answer doesn’t fit this week’s question.

WHAT YOU’LL DO….

Our routine is that there is no routine.
On any given day your role may include (among other things)…
Supervise and lead accounting staff.
Manage audits conducted by third-party CPA firm.
Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Document and communicate accounting and financial concepts.
Oversee budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis.
Create/Enter/Approve/Post accounting entries as needed.
Research and help implement business-related compliance issues (licenses, taxes, etc).
Handle cash management/banking.
Assist with insurance-related activity.
Close the books accurately and efficiently within allotted deadlines.
Maintain a multitude of other special projects, analyses, and initiatives as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE…
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
8-10 years’ experience in a similar role with increasing responsibility.
Proven success in a supervisory role.
Background in Professional Services industry, preferably Architecture with an emphasis on Project Accounting.
Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
Ability to see big picture based on deep understanding of details.
Strong knowledge of General Ledgers, Income Statements, Balance Sheets, etc.
Exceptional technical skills, including Microsoft, advanced Excel, and preferably Deltek Vision or VantagePoint.
Experience working in an ESOP is a plus.
