Senior Accountant

ARA Diagnostic Imaging is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team! Summary: Manages and maintain general ledger and supporting schedules, capital assets, and cash schedules.
Responsible for the preparation of audit documents and reports, corporate budget, government surveys, and tax documentation.
Analyzes financial data to ensure accuracy and explain variances.
Manages the accounts payable process for consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
Essential Functions: Manages accounts payable process to include validation of coding, finding efficiencies, and process weekly settlement runs.
Reviews invoices, purchasing card transactions, and customer billing to calculate sales and use tax to the state.
Manages the 1099 annual filing process.
Analyzes revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately.
Maintains the accuracy of the general ledger, including preparing financial schedules and journal entries.
Maintains cash schedules, inspects account status and transfers cash as necessary to cover disbursements.
Assists with cash flow management.
Facilitates preparation of required audit work and reports.
Facilitates preparation of documents required for tax return and corporate reporting.
Facilitates the corporate budget process.
Reviews actual vs.
budget variances with department heads to gain a better understanding of future.
Uses advanced accounting practices to oversee and resolve complex accounting issues involving financial statements, reconciliations and actual to budget variances.
Facilitates preparation of specialized reports including location analysis, financial summaries and budgets.
Maintains relationships with bank and credit processing vendors in order to initiate and resolve issues.
Provides assistance to lower level employees including training and guidance with complex issues.
Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
At least 5 years of experience working as a senior accountant performing general ledger and financial reporting duties in a healthcare related organization.
Skills/Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of accounting software and financial reporting systems.
Workday, Great Plains and FRx/Management Reporter knowledge a plus Self-starter, self-motivated and able to “run with the ball” with minimal supervision Good understanding of GAAP, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger Coding Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Highly motivated with great organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus Demonstrates a results orientation for delivering appropriate products and services in an accurate, complete and timely fashion Must be skilled in written and verbal communications Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results Working conditions: May be exposed to negligible electromagnetic radiation.
Must have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
