POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Coordinator will assist in processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintaining general accounting files and records, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
The Accounting Coordinator will also apply knowledge of the organization’s financial and accounting systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
They are responsible for understanding organizational structure, finances, budget, and the core businesses of the organization.
WHERE YOU WILL WORK
This position can be hybrid, with a requirement for at least one day a week working with the full team at our office location in Austin, Texas (Headquarters).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
You are expected to perform the following essential responsibilities of the position with reasonable accommodation.

Performs bank deposits and cash application for one bank account.
Identifies, researches, and resolves assigned reconciling deposit items.
Prepares expense coding allocations for monthly corporate credit card statements.
Creates and tracks invoices.
Compiles, inputs, and reconciles vendor invoices weekly and processes payment requests to vendors after verifying appropriate approval and compliance with spending policies.
Records payments made by wires and ACH.
Reconciles expense reports and related accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Reviews contract and procurement documentation to ensure policy compliance.
Monitors due dates in various contracts for installment payments.
Responds to vendor inquiries and employee or partner requests relating to payments.
Monitors outstanding checks.
Maintains spreadsheets, performs data entry, and prepares reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:
Associate degree in accounting or finance.
Equivalent years of experience can be substituted for education plus the minimum required years of experience.
Experience
Required:
Three or more years of work experience within accounting or finance disciplines required.
Three or more years of extensive general ledger experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
Proficient computer skills, including business application systems and intermediate proficiency with Excel spreadsheets.
Working knowledge of accounting information systems.
Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to perform all communications in a courteous and professional manner.
Strong time management skills with ability to work independently as needed, multi-task, and handle time-sensitive work.
Ability to work independently and as a team player.
Willingness to learn new skills.
Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
Other
Ability to travel to AANP Conferences within the U.
S.
when required (2-4% per year).
