Description: The Cost Accountant is responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports.
Responsible for creating detailed reports that present cost-effective solutions for CKD USA, building updated databases and managing cost information to maximize profitability for our company.
Work with all departments to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting processes.
Cost Accountant Responsibilities: Collecting cost information and maintaining an expenses database.
Constructing data accumulation systems.
Determining fixed costs (e.
g.
salaries, rent and insurance).
Plan and record variable costs (e.
g.
purchases of raw material and operations costs).
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
Assist budgeting reports (for the company and for each department).
Review and analyze and report profit margins.
Prepare (monthly, quarterly, and annual) cost forecasts.
Assisting in month-end and year-end closing.
Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions and savings.
Partnering with the business to determine and implement process improvements.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities: Assist with budget forecasts.
Review and analyze income and expenditure accounts.
Review balance sheets and profit/loss accounts.
Review financial transactions and documents.
Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
Comply with financial policies and regulations.
Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions.
Support during internal and external audits.
Review inventory balances and assist with inventory counts for quarter and year ends.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Requirements: Experience and Skills: 2+ years of work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, or similar role.
Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus.
Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Strong time management skills.
Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
Education/Certification: BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant study.
International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) accreditation (would be a plus).
Certified public accountant (CPA) license (would be a plus).
