AP Bookkeeper

Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper Brentwood Christian School REPORTS TO: Controller CLASSIFICATION: Full Time; Non-Exempt; Year Round SUMMARY: Responsible for receipt and coding of all income, student billing, and related parent relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Support the mission and core beliefs of BCS • Promote the mission and core beliefs of BCS • Track and collect tuition for each enrolled student • Bill and post payments for miscellaneous student statement charges for each enrolled student • Code and prepare check and cash deposits daily • Discuss financial expectations and establish payment plans with all new families • Track customer account status, including delinquent accounts and collect past- due amounts • Process student financial aid applications • Process withdrawn students and calculate tuition protection plan and balances due • Reconcile accounts • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related business field or similar is preferred • Must have one to three years of bookkeeping experience preferably in a Christian education environment.
A Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for required experience • Must be at least 25 year of age with a valid driver license, proof of insurance and acceptable driving record • Must be an active member of a Christian church; Church of Christ preferred SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: • Knowledge of accounting basics • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office and competence in various educational software programs • High level of attention to detail • Strong written and verbal communication skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
